City Of St. Peters - 4.2 Saint Peters, MO Job Details Full-time $28.46 - $30.19 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits AD&D insurance Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Tuition reimbursement Pension plan Employee assistance program Vision insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Industrial equipment Full Job Description Job Summary The City of St. Peters is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Equipment Operator to support daily operations at Recycle City, with strong experience with the operation of wheel loaders and skid-steer loaders Under general supervision, this position performs skilled labor in the handling, baling, and movement of recyclable materials. The role requires consistent physical effort, sound judgment in problem-solving, and occasional interaction with the public.
Normal Shift:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; some weekends required. Key Responsibilities Operate light- to medium-duty forklifts and skid-steer loaders, as well as mid-size articulated wheel-loaders. Perform baling operations and material handling tasks with attention to safety and quality. Continuously load in-bound recyclables into drum-feeder charge box. Conduct visual quality control of bales to reduce contamination. Load outgoing recyclable commodities into trailers. Perform routine equipment servicing and minor repairs; report major issues. Maintain accurate records related to bale counts, outgoing materials, and housekeeping inspections. Assist with on-the-job training in equipment operation, safety practices, and work methods. Address resident and customer concerns in the Recycle City Drop-Off Area. Follow all established City safety procedures and standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker. High School graduate or GED certificate. Must have a Motor Vehicle Operator's license valid in the state of Missouri. Proficient in the operation and maintenance of wheel loaders, excavators and/or material handlers. One (1) year of applicable experience. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs. Desired Qualifications Certified Forklift Operator. Skilled in the operation of a baler and/or material processing equipment Class "B" CDL with air brakes valid in the state of Missouri.
