Job Description

Correct operation of Zamboni ice resurfacing machine in performing ice cuts at the scheduled times and under the direct supervision of the Ice Rink Director. Complete all job responsibilities and daily tasks effectively. Uphold all Orange County SportsPlex core values. Work with integrity and enthusiasm. Maintain a positive and friendly rapport with all customers and associates. Serve as the Manager of the facility alongside other Managers or as the sole Manager when others are not present. Abide by OCSP employee handbook.
Hours needed include:
All evenings from 5:00pm until 1:30am, Saturday Daytime, Sunday 6:00am-2:30pm As it relates to
Zamboni Operator:
  • Thoroughly trained in every aspect of the operation and follow instructions as to ice thickness and ice temperatures
  • Conditioner must be flushed out after every cut
  • Spreader towel must be rinsed off (front and back) after every cut
  • Completely fill Zamboni with hot ice making water
  • Flush out Zamboni threshold after last cut of the day making sure to not get dirt and etc. onto the ice
  • Fill out Zamboni Log after every cut
  • Edge, Flood, and perform multiple ice cuts at the end of the daily schedule as directed by the Ice Rink Director
  • Other duties/tasks as directed by the management team.
As it relates to
Manager-On-Duty:
  • Supervise ice rink during shifts and will be responsible for overseeing facility and events as directed.
  • Supervise ice rink and other relevant staff particularly as it relates to evening and weekend Public Skating and heavy hockey/skate school session. Assign skateguards and other ice rink staff duties and responsibilities including when to be on the ice, when to be in skate rental, and cleaning duties during and to complete their shift.
  • Supervise and maintain a safe and clean environment in the ice rink and relevant areas including the main entrance, lobby, and bathrooms.
  • Assist other departments with minor issues as needed and able to. Call on department heads, front desk, and Ice Rink Director to handle issues in other departments when necessary.
  • Oversee and perform cleaning and maintaining of seating areas, locker rooms, and auxiliary areas.
  • Perform facility opening and closing duties as scheduled.
  • Other duties/tasks as directed by the management team.

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
