In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing underground utility systems such as water supply, sanitary drainage, stormwater management, and sewer lines. Your expertise in operating heavy machinery and interpreting technical drawings will ensure the successful completion of utility installation projects while adhering to strict safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure development with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. Duties Operate heavy equipment including loaders, backhoes, excavators, and rollers to excavate/backfill trenches and move materials efficiently. Install underground utilities such as water supply systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and wastewater infrastructure following detailed construction plans and blueprints. Use utility locating tools and pipe lasers to accurately position pipes and ensure precise installation aligned with technical specifications. Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints to guide trenching and pipe installation activities. Perform construction trenching for utility lines while adhering to safety regulations and federal construction safety standards. Conduct concrete finishing, concrete forming, and plumbing tasks as needed for utility system connections. Follow all safety protocols including OSHA regulations, safety regulations for heavy equipment operation, and site-specific safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Skills Proficiency in operating heavy machinery such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and rollers. Strong knowledge of underground utility installation processes including sewer line installation, water systems, stormwater management, and wastewater systems. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications accurately. Skilled in utility trenching techniques with experience in pipeline installation for sanitary drainage systems and stormwater systems. Familiarity with utility locating equipment and pipe laser technology for precise alignment during installation projects. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to safety protocol guidelines at all times. Ability to interpret technical drawings related to underground utilities projects within diverse environments such as oil & gas or municipal infrastructure projects. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on pipeline installation in water supply or sewer systems while maintaining high safety standards.
