In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery to support excavation, grading, and utility work on construction sites. Your expertise will help ensure projects progress smoothly, safely, and efficiently. We're looking for motivated professionals who thrive in active environments and are committed to safety and precision. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while honing your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction utility work. Duties Operate loaders, including Caterpillar models, to move materials such as dirt, gravel, and debris around construction sites Operate water trucks to control dust and provide water for construction activities, ensuring site safety and compliance with environmental standards Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on all heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, backhoes, and water trucks Assist with excavation tasks by operating excavators and backhoes to dig trenches or foundations as directed Support construction utility work by locating underground utilities using utility locating equipment before digging or trenching Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment Collaborate with team members to execute grading, site preparation, and utility installation tasks efficiently while adhering to project specifications Skills Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, backhoes, and water trucks in a construction setting Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic maintenance on construction equipment Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation Ability to perform construction grading accurately using loaders and excavators Skilled in utility locating techniques to identify underground utilities prior to excavation activities Valid commercial truck driving license with experience in commercial driving preferred Familiarity with construction site protocols, excavation processes, and heavy equipment maintenance practices Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency This role is ideal for dedicated individuals eager to advance their careers in construction by working with versatile machinery on impactful projects.
