Role:

County Line Stone is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our operations team. This position is intended for a skilled and versatile operator who can safely and efficiently operate multiple types of heavy equipment while supporting quarry production, plant operations, and maintenance. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of heavy equipment operating experience. We are looking for an experienced operator who is comfortable transitioning between different pieces of equipment and responsibilities based on daily operational needs. This is a full-time, year-round union position working Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekend work as operational needs require. Employees also participate in winter maintenance activities to prepare equipment and the plant for each production season.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently operate a variety of heavy equipment, including

• CAT 990 wheel loaders
• CAT 980 wheel loaders
• Off-road quarry haul trucks
• Articulated haul trucks
• Excavators
• Dozers
• Motor graders
• Water trucks
• Rock breakers
• Operate and assist with portable crushing and screening equipment.
• Assist with general plant maintenance, startup, and shutdown procedures throughout all areas of the operation.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, servicing, and maintenance.
• Perform welding and fabrication as required.
• Assist with blacktop plant operations as needed.
• Serve as a backup Rock Picker operator.
• Develop a working knowledge of quarry production, crushing operations, plant equipment, and controls.
• Communicate effectively with management and fellow employees to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum of five years of heavy equipment operating experience required.
• Demonstrated experience safely and efficiently operating multiple types of heavy equipment.
• Experience operating wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, and off-road haul trucks is strongly preferred.
• Quarry, aggregate, mining, heavy highway, or similar industry experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with equipment and plant maintenance.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and willingness to continue developing new skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and throughout an active quarry environment.
• Willingness to work overtime, including before or after normal operating hours and weekends, as operational needs require.
• Willingness to participate in additional on-site and off-site training.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.
• MSHA training preferred but not required; training will be provided.
