In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating heavy construction equipment, performing utility installation and maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance on construction sites. Your expertise will help deliver essential utility infrastructure projects efficiently and safely, contributing to community development and infrastructure resilience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge machinery and be part of impactful construction initiatives. Duties Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, utility installation, and site preparation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Utilize utility locating tools to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation or construction activities begin. Follow all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members. Assist with construction grading, trenching, backfilling, and other utility-related tasks to ensure project specifications are met precisely. Drive commercial trucks as needed for transporting equipment, materials, or personnel between job sites while adhering to all commercial driving regulations. Support construction utility work by adhering to detailed project plans, following safety protocols, and collaborating effectively with team members. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment in a utility or general construction setting. Demonstrated knowledge of construction site safety regulations including federal standards and equipment safety procedures. Familiarity with utility locating techniques and tools used in underground utility detection. Previous experience in excavation, construction grading, water truck operation, and general utility work is highly desirable. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record for commercial truck driving responsibilities (preferred but required). Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a strong plus. Construction experience involving utility installation or maintenance projects will help ensure success in this role. Pay:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
