(Department of Transportation) regulations Cleaning Full Job Description A Heavy Wrecker Operator drives and operates heavy-duty tow trucks (e.g., rotator or hook-and-chain) to recover, winch, and tow large vehicles like semi-trucks, buses, and construction equipment. They are responsible for securing loads, performing complex accident recovery, providing roadside assistance, and ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations (DOT/OSHA). Duties Provides towing and roadside assistance in a safe, professional and timely manner, free of accident, injury, damage or incident. Operate heavy-duty wreckers and recovery equipment for vehicle towing and accident recovery. Safely maneuver, rig, and recover disabled or wrecked commercial vehicles, often in high-pressure or challenging terrain/weather conditions. Utilize specialized heavy-duty winches, booms, and hydraulic lifts to secure vehicles. Assess accident scenes, develop recovery plans, and ensure safe, efficient cleanup. Performing minor repairs on site, such as changing belts, replacing tires, or tightening components. Ensure safe loading, transport, and delivery of vehicles and equipment. Abide by all Federal, State and Municipal laws, rules and ordinances. Maintains truck and equipment in a safe, clean state, operating it in a safe and professional manner. Consistently ensure quality customer service through professionalism, timely response, skill and courtesy. Cleans and removes debris from damaged vehicles and off the roadway. Removes, bends, or cuts parts of damaged vehicles preparatory to towing.. Skills Valid CDL Class A License with no restriction E. Proven experience operating heavy wreckers (rotators, heavy-duty tow trucks). Knowledge of heavy-duty towing techniques and safety protocols. Ability to handle physically demanding work and operate in various weather conditions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Certifications such as WreckMaster or TRAA are a plus (or willingness to obtain)Pay:
