Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving team. In this role, you will operate various types of rollers to compact and finish subgrade, binder, and surface courses for commercial and roadway projects. Your expertise will directly impact the durability, smoothness, and overall quality of our paving projects.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation:
Safely operate self-propelled breakdown, pneumatic, and finish rollers in successive overlapping passes.
Quality Control:
Monitor asphalt temperatures and mat conditions to determine the appropriate speed, ridges, and pressure to prevent imperfections.
Maintenance:
Perform daily equipment inspections, fluid checks, and light preventative maintenance.
Crew Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with paver operators, rakers, and the site foreman to ensure rolling patterns match project specifications.
Site Safety:
Adhere strictly to all OSHA, DOT, and company safety programs, including marking hazards and directing traffic when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience operating asphalt rollers on a paving crew.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of compaction principles, asphalt grades, and rolling patterns.
Physical Ability:
Capable of lifting 50+ lbs., standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Licensing:
Valid Driver's License required.
