El Sauz Water Supply Corporation Position Summary El Sauz Water Supply Corporation is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Backhoe Operator / Field Worker to assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system. This position is responsible for operating a backhoe and other equipment while also performing fieldwork as needed, including water meter servicing, system maintenance, and water line repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility work, construction, plumbing, or equipment operation. However, training will be provided for qualified applicants who demonstrate a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate a backhoe safely and efficiently for excavation and utility maintenance projects.
Service, inspect, install, and maintain water meters as needed.
Assist with the repair and maintenance of water distribution systems.
Repair or replace water lines, pipes, clamps, valves, and related components.
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of corporation facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Assist with locating and repairing water leaks.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Respond to maintenance issues and support daily field operations.
Read and record water meter information accurately.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Participate in emergency repairs and after-hours response when necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must 18 years of age or older.
Previous experience in plumbing, water utility operations, construction, pipe installation, pipe repair, or a related field preferred.
Experience operating a backhoe or other heavy equipment is preferred.
Experience installing water pipe clamps, repairing water lines, or performing similar utility maintenance work is desirable.
Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment, tools, and materials.
Valid Texas driver's license preferred.
Backhoe Operator Certification or Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of backhoe operation and equipment safety.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately read and record meter data.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Physical Requirements

Compensation
Starting pay: $12.00 per hour
