Position Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a Motor Grader / Fine-Grade machine and will be responsible for properly operating the motor grader/blade to perform lime, flex base, and general dirt work operations. What You'll Do Operate motor grader equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures Perform rough and finish grading using a motor grader and blue tops or electronic grade/machine control GPS systems Read and interpret cut and fill stakes to ensure precise grading and surface preparation Perform excavation and grading operations involving lime, flex base, and general sub-grade work Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of assigned equipment to ensure proper and safe working condition Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by the supervisor This job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position. What We're Looking For At least 10 years of experience as a finish blade operator, with a minimum of 5 years in heavy highway equipment operations Extensive knowledge and experience operating a motor grader for fine grading and roadway finishing Previous experience with grade control systems preferred Physical ability to perform assigned tasks and to walk on uneven terrain Must be able to climb the equipment's ladder to reach the operator's seat safely General operator skills and familiarity with other heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, and dozers preferred Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality Why You'll Love Working with Us At Zachry, we invest in our people because they're the foundation of our success.
