In this role, you will be responsible for operating dump trucks and excavators to facilitate excavation, grading, and utility work on construction sites. Your expertise in handling construction machinery, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety regulations will ensure efficient project completion while maintaining a safe work environment. Duties Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, and debris across construction sites efficiently and safely. Skillfully operate excavators and loaders for excavation, site grading, trenching, and utility installation tasks. Perform routine maintenance checks on construction machinery including excavators, water trucks, loaders, and Caterpillar equipment to ensure optimal performance. Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities using specialized equipment and following federal safety regulations. Follow all safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation, including equipment safety protocols and construction site safety regulations. Support construction grading activities by preparing the site according to project specifications. Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety standards. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks in a construction environment. Strong knowledge of commercial truck driving regulations and safe driving practices for dump trucks and water trucks. Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures specific to heavy equipment operation. Experience in utility locating and utility utility work on construction sites is preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform excavation tasks with precision while adhering to project timelines. Prior experience working on large-scale construction projects with a focus on site grading, utility installation, or excavation is highly valued.
