Heavy Equipment Operator

Alpine Excavating & Construction - Heavy Equipment Operator Alpine Excavating & Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. Alpine performs commercial and residential excavation, underground utilities, roadway, and site development projects throughout Utah. Our work includes mass excavation, grading, water, sewer, and storm drain installation, curb & gutter, asphalt prep, demolition, site utilities, crushing operations, and large-scale earthwork projects. We are looking for motivated operators who take pride in quality work, production, and jobsite safety. Position Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on excavation and utility projects Equipment may include: Excavators Dozers Loaders Rollers Skid steers Haul trucks Scrapers Compaction equipment

Perform:

Mass grading and earthmoving Utility trench excavation Water, sewer, and storm drain installation support Site prep and building pad preparation Roadway and parking lot preparation Backfill and compaction operations Demolition and material handling Read and understand grade stakes, utility plans, and site layouts Work closely with foremen, pipe crews, superintendents, and project managers Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance Maintain clean and organized equipment Follow OSHA and Alpine safety standards Help maintain production goals and project schedules Assist crews with ground labor when needed Qualifications Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred Experience in excavation, grading, underground utilities, or civil construction preferred Ability to operate equipment safely around utilities, structures, and active jobsites Understanding of trench safety and excavation practices Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Valid driver's license required CDL preferred but not required GPS machine control experience is a plus Strong work ethic, communication, and dependable attendance required Preferred Experience Commercial site development Residential subdivision work Water, sewer, and storm drain installation Roadway excavation and grading Import/export hauling operations Rock excavation and crushing operations Fine grading and finish work Working around live utilities and traffic control zones What Alpine Offers Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Long-term career growth Modern equipment fleet Safety-focused work environment Steady year-round work opportunities Team-oriented company culture Work Location Projects are located throughout Northern and Central Utah. $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
