We're looking to add an Excavator Operator to our team, please read below for the details of the position. Applicants should have experience with excavation, trenching, pipe setting and loading trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and skillfully operate various equipment including backhoes, loaders and skid steers with emphasis on excavators.
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventative maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform tasks in a safe and accident-free manner.
Requirements:
- Three years of experience required
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving history.
- CDL Class A driver's license preferred.
- Experience operating various equipment including backhoes, excavators, loaders and skid steer.
- Applicant must be able to pass drug test.
- The position location is in Chesapeake, Virginia
- Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Can take and apply direction from supervisor
- Workers must provide their own safety footwear
- Workers must have reliable transportation, or be able to access jobsites in any location
- Saturdays are required periodically as needed
Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Noise levels in the work environment is usually loud.
- Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.
Physical Demands:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Extensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.).
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
