Cedar Grove Composting is looking to bring on a customer service oriented Heavy Equipment Operator to our Tacoma sales yard. This is a non-union position, responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy and screening equipment, performing light housekeeping of work area, assisting customers directly and completing daily administrative tasks. The regularly scheduled shift will be 4x10s, Tuesday thru Friday. Why Cedar Grove? Cedar Grove is a local, family-owned business with deep roots in the Seattle area dating back to 1938. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate safely and efficiently on road and on property with heavy equipment Operate portable and stationary screening equipment. Pre/post trip equipment inspections Customer load out Conduct product inventory General site maintenance Provide excellent customer service Operate a POS system as needed Required Skill Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner Ability to work with public in a professional manner Dependable, self-motivated and ability to work without supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic customer service skills Basic computer skills required Education/Certification High school diploma or GED equivalent Must have a valid Washington driver's license Experience/Other Must have experience operating front-end loaders History of good employment attendance. Physical Demands To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to stand for four or more hours per day, and frequently lift, push/pull, and/or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
