HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

The City of Chippewa Falls is accepting applications for a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator with the Street Department. This position is responsible for tasks associated with building and maintaining roads including but not limited to paving streets, storm sewer work, maintaining ditches, patching potholes, alley reconstruction, and snow plowing streets. Ability to operate and perform daily maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment and heavy trucks (over 26,000 G.W.) is needed. Must be familiar with safe operation of heavy trucks.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent is required with 1 to 3 years road maintenance or construction preferred. Applicant must hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements to include air brakes, tanker and combination vehicle. Two years CDL experience is preferred. Wage is $28.39 per hour. Work hours include every 2nd and 4th Saturday from the second Saturday in April to the second Saturday in November at the Yard Waste site. Availability for winter street maintenance required.
