Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of construction machinery to support building projects, infrastructure development, and site preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment safety procedures, maintenance practices, and operational standards to ensure efficient and safe project execution. The ideal candidate will bring construction site experience, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to occupational safety regulations. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, blades, excavators, cranes, and rollers to perform earthmoving, and site development tasks Perform excavation, grading, loading, backfilling, site preparation, and general dirt work Conduct daily pre-trip and equipment inspections Identify and report equipment maintenance or safety concerns Perform basic preventive maintenance and equipment care Follow company safety policies and jobsite procedures Work effectively with truck drivers, ground personnel, supervisors, and other operators Maintain production while protecting equipment and minimizing unnecessary wear Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized Perform additional jobsite duties as needed Skills Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of various heavy machinery operations Proficiency in operating cranes, excavators, dozers, loaders, blades, rollers, and other material handling equipment Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting Experience with hydraulics systems and hand tools used in equipment repair Ability to perform commercial truck driving including operation of front loader trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and farm machinery Familiarity with safety regulations governing heavy equipment operation and material handling Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining high safety standards Knowledge of occupational safety regulation compliance related to heavy equipment use This position offers an engaging opportunity for experienced operators eager to contribute their skills to dynamic construction projects.
