PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Perform general maintenance and repair of painted surfaces of district building structures. To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, and comfortable environment in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must speak, read and write English High school graduate or GED preferred Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and be insurable
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of different types of paints, stains and finishes Ability to lift and carry 45lbs without assistance
Experience:
Two years experience in the field of painting
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assists in maintaining buildings through preparing and painting buildings, classrooms, shelves, cabinets, etc.; in mixing paints; and in cleaning brushes and paint equipment. Works cooperatively with other departments in maintaining school properties. Learns proper safety procedures; to follow safety regulations in the performance of duties; and to report accidents immediately. Helps keep vehicle in safe operating condition, and inspects and adjusts tools and equipment for safety and efficiency and perform preventive maintenance as needed. Works outside or regular assigned work schedule to include night and/or weekend duty as requested Responsible for successfully completing all work orders and submit to office staff in a timely manner Ensures vehicles, equipment, and tool boxes are locked and secure at all times while vehicle is left unattended. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. Performs other duties as assigned.

Light van or truck seat belts, shoulder harness, safety equipment (flares, reflective signs), fire extinguisher, radio communication equipment

Ability to concentrate, communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret, reason, read, compute, instruct and maintain emotional control under stress; ability to handle several projects at the same time with frequent interruptions
