Painter Job Description The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, coatings, and finishes on commercial construction projects, including offices, schools, hospitals, banks, and industrial facilities. This role focuses on delivering high-quality results through careful preparation and application techniques while maintaining job site safety and meeting project deadlines. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including masking, sanding, and patching to ensure a smooth and clean finish. Apply paint, coatings, and finishes using brushing and rolling techniques on commercial construction projects such as offices, schools, hospitals, banks, and industrial facilities. Follow project specifications and quality standards to achieve consistent, professional finishes on all assigned areas. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, materials, and equipment. Adhere to job site safety protocols and regulations to protect yourself, coworkers, and property. Work efficiently to meet project timelines and deadlines, coordinating tasks to minimize disruption to other trades and building occupants. Inspect completed work to identify any touch-ups or corrections needed and ensure all surfaces meet quality expectations. Essential Skills At least 2 years of painting experience in residential or commercial settings. Strong proficiency in paint preparation, including masking, sanding, and patching surfaces. Ability to apply paint using brush and roll techniques with consistent quality. Knowledge of basic painting tools, materials, and coatings used in commercial construction environments. Ability to follow instructions, project plans, and safety procedures accurately. Reliability in meeting early start times and maintaining punctual attendance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on a variety of commercial projects such as offices, schools, hospitals, banks, and industrial facilities. Familiarity with both interior and exterior painting conditions and requirements. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering neat, professional finishes. Work Environment This role is primarily based on commercial construction sites with mostly indoor painting work and occasional exterior projects. You will start your day early, with a typical start time of 6:00 a.m., and work in environments such as offices, schools, hospitals, banks, and industrial facilities. The work involves standing for extended periods, using painting tools and equipment, and moving between different areas of the job site. Attire should be practical and appropriate for construction and painting activities, with an emphasis on safety and durability. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
