Job Description

Overview A high-rise condominium building is seeking a qualified, experienced, and dependable Painter to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and be capable of performing high-quality painting and related maintenance throughout the property. Duties Perform interior and exterior painting of common areas, walls, ceilings, doors, railings, and other building surfaces. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and priming as necessary. Match existing paint colors and maintain a consistent, professional appearance throughout the property. Perform minor drywall repairs and other basic surface preparation as needed. Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, landscaping, and surrounding areas while working. Maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies in good condition. Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized. Identify areas requiring painting or repair and report them to management. Assist the maintenance department with other reasonable duties when needed. Follow all Association safety procedures and building rules. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or commercial painting with knowledge of surface preparation and coating application techniques Familiarity with construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless systems), brushes, rollers, and caulking guns Understanding of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic results Ability to work safely at heights using ladders or scaffolding while following safety regulations and wearing appropriate respiratory protection when necessary Experience with residential painting projects including drywall finishing and fixture installation Knowledge of industrial painting processes such as coating application on large structures or equipment Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to project scope and materials needed Strong construction site experience with a focus on renovation, maintenance, or remodeling projects Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform visual color comparisons for consistent finishes Valid experience with construction spray painting techniques including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying methods Minimum 3 years of professional painting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, primers, and finishes. Ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely manner. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable, punctual, professional, and able to work well with residents and staff. Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and painting equipment. Must be able to lift and move painting supplies and equipment. Fluent English required; Spanish as a secondary language is a plus. Must be able to pass a background check and meet all employment requirements.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
