Job Description

Lead Painter / Remodeling Technician Mata Construction GC, Inc. is looking for an experienced, dependable Lead Painter / Remodeling Technician to join our team. We are a residential construction and remodeling company serving the Chicagoland area. Painting is a large part of our work, but our projects also include drywall, finish carpentry, flooring, and general residential remodeling. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up consistently, communicates well, and can eventually take responsibility for completing projects with limited supervision. Pay $25-$32 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill level. Opportunities for increased responsibility and compensation are available for the right person. Responsibilities The ideal candidate should have strong experience with: Interior residential painting Proper preparation, masking and protection of customers' homes Cutting, rolling and spraying Painting walls, ceilings, trim and doors Drywall installation and repair Taping, mudding, sanding and finishing drywall Baseboard, shoe molding and door/window casing installation General finish carpentry LVP and vinyl flooring installation Basic framing and carpentry Light demolition and remodeling work Minor tile work General punch-list and home repair work You do not need to be an expert in every trade listed above. However, strong residential painting skills are required, along with experience in several of the other areas. What We're Looking For We place a high value on reliability and professionalism.

Shows up consistently and on time Has dependable transportation Communicates if an issue arises Can work independently without constant supervision Can follow a written or verbal project scope Pays attention to detail and takes pride in quality workmanship Maintains a clean and organized jobsite Understands how to properly protect flooring, furniture and customers' belongings Is respectful and professional when working inside occupied homes Can troubleshoot common remodeling situations and find practical solutions Is comfortable eventually helping lead another painter or helper Requirements Professional residential painting experience Experience with drywall repair and finishing Experience with finish carpentry and/or flooring strongly preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to travel to residential projects throughout the Chicagoland area Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with residential construction and remodeling References and/or photos of previous work may be requested Mata Construction maintains professional, customer-focused jobsites. Alcohol and illegal drug use during working hours or at customer properties is strictly prohibited. Pay:
$26.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
