Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Painter to join our team and bring vibrant, high-quality finishes to a variety of projects throughout the Kansas City area on both sides of the state line, with some work outside of the metro. As a key contributor to our renovation, restoration, and new construction initiatives, you will utilize your expertise in surface preparation, coating application, and finishing techniques to transform spaces. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse commercial sites, ensuring surfaces are not only visually appealing but also durable and protected. Your skills will be essential in delivering exceptional results that meet safety standards and client expectations. Duties Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality. Apply coatings using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (including airless paint spraying), and conventional spray techniques for commercial projects. Interpret blueprints to accurately execute project specifications. Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform tasks such as drywall repair as needed. Follow strict safety regulations by wearing respiratory protection and adhering to safety protocols during all phases of construction painting and surface preparation. Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools such as paint sprayers, brushes, rollers, scaffolding equipment like ladders—ensuring safety at all times on construction sites. Qualifications Proven experience in construction painting with a solid understanding of surface preparation techniques specific to renovation or restoration projects. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools including airless paint sprayers and conventional spray equipment. Strong knowledge of coating materials including paints, primers, stains, sealers. Ability to interpret blueprints for precise application work. Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection measures and safe ladder use. Experience with commercial applications is highly desirable. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities; familiarity with schematics is advantageous. Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Must have reliable transportation.
