Job Description
Overview Painter Location:
Mercy Hospital - A Member of Catholic Health Join a mission-driven team at Mercy Hospital, a 375-bed not-for-profit hospital known for compassionate care that treats the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. The Painter is responsible for painting and redecorating walls, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures in various locations throughout the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for patients, visitors, and staff.Job Details Job Responsibilities:
- Paint and redecorate interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming as needed.
- Mix, match, and thin paints to achieve proper color, consistency, and finish.
- Apply paints, stains, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure proper application techniques and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Follow all hospital safety guidelines, including infection control procedures.
- Coordinate work with other departments to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
- Identify and report maintenance issues as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior and exterior painting.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a healthcare environment.
