Responsibilities Prepare exterior surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, primers, and sealants using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, and spray equipment like airless paint sprayers. Execute a variety of exterior painting projects on residential and commercial buildings, including walls, trim, stucco, masonry, and fixtures. Utilize blueprint reading and schematics to accurately follow project specifications and design plans. Perform surface repairs including plastering, caulking, restoration work, and basic carpentry such as trim carpentry and framing. Operate power tools safely for tasks like sanding, scraping, or applying textured finishes. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Skills Extensive experience with construction painting techniques across residential, commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for surface preparation and finishing. Strong knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects and color matching accuracy. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings with precision. Skilled in plastering, stucco application, masonry work, caulking, fixture installation, and drywall finishing. Familiarity with industrial painting processes including airless spray application and welding for specialized coatings. Solid understanding of construction estimating principles and basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating materials needed. Experience with renovation projects involving remodeling, restoration work, framing carpentry, concrete finishing, masonry work, handyman tasks, and maintenance activities.
