If you have the desire, Newport Restoration Foundation (NRF) can give you career building skills. If you already have painting skills, NRF can offer you a rare opportunity. NRF is seeking a Seasonal Painter to assist with the preparation and painting of the organization's unique collection of historic homes, primarily in downtown Newport. This position will be part of a four-person Paint Crew.Salary Range :
$24.00 to 26.00 per hour (40 hours per week)Benefits :
None Specific Responsibilities :
Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 4:30Preparation:
o Wash, scrape, sand and smooth interior and exterior surfaces. o Fill cracks, holes and joints with caulk, putty or other fillers. o Remove fixtures such as lamps and electrical switch covers. o Cover surfaces with drop cloths to protect during painting process. o Operate compressors, spray equipment and other small power equipment. o Erect scaffolding, staging and ladders to reach surfaces of work area.Paint:
o Paint or stain interior and exterior surfaces by hand.Clean Up:
o Clean equipment, paint mixing/storage area and work area. o Keep a clean safe work environment.Qualifications :
- Climb stairs and work from ladders, staging and roofs. (no more than 2nd floor)
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly bend, stretch and kneel.
- Work well as a member of the team.
- Interact professionally with tenants and outside contacts.
- Ability to follow supervisor's instructions and also work independently.
