Job Description
Who We're Looking For Experience is valuable, but attitude and character matter more to us than years in the trade. We are looking for someone who: Shows up on time and can be counted on Takes pride in doing excellent work Pays attention to the details other people might overlook Is clean, organized, and respectful in customers' homes Can take direction and constructive criticism without becoming defensive Wants to continually improve their craft Is willing to learn a different or better way of doing something, regardless of how long they have been painting Understands that none of us knows everything and there is always more to learn Is confident in their abilities without needing to prove they are the best person in the room Is willing to ask questions when they don't know something rather than pretending they do Can learn from someone with more experience or less experience when that person has something valuable to teach Takes responsibility for mistakes and focuses on fixing them rather than making excuses At Brush & Blade, we take craftsmanship seriously, but we don't believe being a professional means believing you've mastered everything. Some of the best craftsmen we've worked with are the ones who remain students of their trade. Products change. Techniques improve. Different projects present different challenges. There is always something else to learn. That applies whether you've been painting for six months or 20 years. Experience No professional painting experience is required. We are happy to train someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and attention to detail. Experienced painters are also strongly encouraged to apply. However, we aren't looking for someone who comes in believing their years of experience mean they have nothing left to learn. We want someone who can bring their experience to the team while also being open to our systems, products, standards, and methods.
