Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) is hiring for positions in our Manufacturing Division in Birmingham. Work is physical in nature, and applicants must be able to work a rotating shift schedule. Duties Work involves a wide variety of tasks that will ensure the plant is prepared for production. Tasks could include cleaning waste and raw materials from prior shift, skimming molten iron, adding raw materials to ladles, rolling various size pipe down pipe conveyors, operating mobile equipment, cleaning work area, stacking timbers on pipe, monitoring pipe oven, patching ladles, etc. Partial Essential Functions Required of the

Climbing steps, ladders, and vertical ladders. Kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, and balancing. Overhead, forward, and bended reach. Seeing and hearing for safety purposes. Pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of force.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (Day, Evening and Nights) on a two (2) to four (4) week rotation. Must be willing and able to work extra hours on weekdays, weekends, or holidays as required to fulfill job duties. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, etc. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations which includes performing manual work in a manufacturing environment lifting a minimum of 50 pounds on a routine basis. Must consent to substance abuse screening. Must exhibit a valid state issued driver's license. Must exhibit a record of punctuality and good attendance. Must exhibit the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job duties. Due to the hazardous nature of the job environment (mobile equipment, overhead cranes, etc.), an acceptable level of vision and hearing is required in order to identify and respond to visual and audible warnings in a safe manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Exhibits a high school degree or equivalency (GED). Two or more years work experience in a manufacturing, construction, production, assembly line, warehouse, industrial or military environment. Completion of an apprenticeship, certification or on the job training for a craft or skilled trade job such as a plumber, machinist, carpenter, electrician, maintenance mechanic, construction mechanic, molder/coremaker, etc. One or more years experience operating heavy equipment such as overhead crane, forklift, crane, backhoe, track loader, etc. Exhibits an Alabama Certified Worker (ACW) Certificate or equivalent, or the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
