Job Description

Fire Sprinkler Helper / Fitter Trainee Overview We are seeking motivated, dependable, and hardworking individuals to join our team as Fire Sprinkler Helpers/Fitter Trainees. Whether you have previous sprinkler experience or are eager to learn a skilled trade, we provide hands-on training, career advancement opportunities, and exposure to a wide variety of commercial construction projects. Responsibilities Assist with the installation, modification, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems. Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings. Cut, thread, groove, assemble, and install steel pipe and sprinkler components. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Assist with system testing, inspections, and troubleshooting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Follow OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and company safety policies. Work effectively with foremen, fitters, project managers, and other trades. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one (1) year of fire sprinkler experience or experience in a related mechanical trade is preferred but not required. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools. Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and construction sites. Preferred Qualifications Fire sprinkler installation experience. Commercial construction experience. Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings. Experience with pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and fabrication. Experience with plumbing, HVAC, or other mechanical systems. Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $20-$40 per hour , based on experience Full-time position Monday through Friday Career advancement opportunities Paid on-the-job training Overtime opportunities Work locations throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia Pre-Employment Requirements We are a drug-free workplace.
