If you are an experienced, motivated, and skilled individual, and can perform duties to lay concrete, steel and other types of pipe to grade and under specification, come join our team.
JOB DUTIES
Prepare subgrade for pipe to be laid. Set up and operate a laser to lay pipe to specified grade and fall. The ability to handle pipe as it is lowered from overhead into ditch/trench and then to adjust pipe by hand and tools to insert spigot into bell end. Work with and handle joint and adhesive sealing materials and compounds. Run tamp and other small equipment to compact ditch or when backfilling trench. Follow all safety rules and keep work area and tools in a clean and orderly condition.
KNOWLEDGE
Some use of reading and writing, adding and subtracting of whole numbers; following of instructions; use of fixed gauges. Reading instruments and similar devices to help check grade of surface prepared and to set up laser.
EXPERIENCE
Over six months and up to one year to become familiar with the accurate use of laser and in checking grade to lay pipe.

Exercise judgment to comply with instructions or prescribed routines, methods or practices involved in the making of minor decisions within the limitations of standard methods and procedures.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Position requires the ability to climb, grasp, push and pull, and to bend at waist for long periods of time. Position requires ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and the ability to perceive sounds and receive detailed information through oral communications.
MENTAL & VISUAL DEMAND
Continuous mental and visual attention, usually repetitive or diversified in operations. Position requires visual acuity including depth perception and field of vision.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT
Responsible for preventing damage to laser and other equipment due to mistakes, carelessness, incorrect process or procedures.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL
Responsible for preventing damage to material worked with.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS
Normal care necessary to prevent injury to others, due to inherent hazards.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS
Responsible for own work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Disagreeable working conditions with continuous exposure to dust, dirt, seasonal temperature variances, wet cement, with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable.
HAZARDS:
Injuries should they occur, would result in partial incapacitation due to cuts and sprains.
