Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laborer Pipe Layer specializing in Underground Utilities to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground utility systems such as water supply, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and other essential infrastructure. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, and utility trenching will be vital to ensuring the successful execution of utility system installation projects. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for utility installation Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately follow specifications for underground utility projects Install underground utilities such as sewer lines, water supply systems, stormwater systems, and wastewater infrastructure following blueprint guidelines and safety regulations Use utility locating tools and techniques to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents Perform construction trenching with attention to safety protocols, ensuring proper shoring and protection of workers and surrounding infrastructure Conduct concrete finishing and forming work as needed for utility structures or access points Adhere strictly to federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols during all phases of work Qualifications Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on underground utilities installation or related fields such as plumbing or oil & gas infrastructure Skilled in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings interpretation, and construction plans Familiarity with utility trenching techniques and underground utility systems such as sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and wastewater infrastructure Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently while following safety regulations Experience with pipeline installation procedures using pipe lasers and other precision tools Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations including OSHA standards for trenching and excavation safety Capable of welding, concrete finishing, plumbing work, and concrete forming as needed for project completion Valid certification in heavy equipment operation; additional certifications in utility locating or confined space entry are a plus Join our team to build essential infrastructure that keeps communities connected! $27.97 - $33.69 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 55.0 per week
