Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Underground Pipe Layer to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing underground utility pipes and systems, including sanitary sewer lines, stormwater systems, water supply pipelines, and other underground utilities. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, and utility trenching will ensure the successful installation of complex underground infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications Perform utility trenching for sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and underground utilities installation Install pipes using pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and grade according to blueprint specifications Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents Use hand tools and power tools for pipe fitting, concrete finishing, welding, and other related tasks as needed Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe work environment at all times Qualifications Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on underground piping or utility installation Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, and front loader truck Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawings, and interpreting construction plans Skilled in utility trenching, sewer line installation, pipeline work, and underground utilities installation Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA standards and federal construction safety protocols Ability to operate pipe lasers for precise pipe alignment during installation projects Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, stormwater systems, plumbing basics, and oil & gas infrastructure is highly desirable Experience with concrete forming and finishing is a plus Valid certification in heavy equipment operation is preferred; additional certifications such as welding or utility locating are advantageous Join our team to build essential infrastructure that supports communities!
