This is a great opportunity for an experienced welder to work with a team that fabricates, welds, and repairs custom equipment. Join our team based in Arnaudville, Louisiana.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
With guidance and direction from the Manufacturing Foreman, perform welding on various materials according to design prints and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Weld and fabricate new and used components of HWO and Snubbing Units as directed by the Fabrication Foreman and Lead Welder. Follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to read and fabricate according to ISS blueprints and customer requirements. Prepare workpieces, using a portable grinder, hand file, or scraper before repairs. Analyze drawings and determine layout plans, assembly, and welding operations. Perform mathematical solving methods to lay out and fabricate components. Stamp ID codes for the welding map and record heat numbers on the drawing. Weld components in all positions using GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW methods. Operate hand tools, such as measuring tape, combination square, caliper, grinder, air tools, and various drills. Complete and maintain industry-specific training and certification required by ISS. Maintain a workspace free of clutter and organized to ensure safety and cleanliness. Follow safety procedures. Attend and participate in daily safety meetings. EDUCATION & TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of welder/fitter experience preferred 6GR Welding Certification in mig and flux core welding Trained in handling and storing gas cylinders Understand
OSHA 1926
Standards Comprehends the API RP for construction and repairs to various rigging components Familiar with safety operations of a plasma torch, acetylene torch, piranha ironworker, and drill press
WORKING CONDITIONS
Perform work in all types of environmental and weather conditions. Perform duties with all personal protective equipment is required.
