Overview Unite Contracting seeks a highly skilled, dedicated Journeyman Pipefitter to join our fabrication team. This is a full-time, permanent job with benefits. The Pipefitter will fabricate industrial piping for oil refineries and chemical plants per plans and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and a thorough understanding of blueprint reading and technical schematics. Responsibilities Accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings of piping systems in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. Fabricate pipes and weld using MIG, FCAW, Stick, and TIG to ensure secure, durable pipe joints. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precise fabrication and installation. Perform routine maintenance on piping systems and troubleshoot leaks, blockages, and system failures. Follow safety protocols throughout all installation and maintenance phases to prevent accidents and injuries. Collaborate with rigging teams to safely move heavy pipes and materials on construction sites. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including measurements, modifications, and compliance reports. Follow all relevant ASME codes & standards for pipe welding and fabrication processes. Support ongoing training in safety procedures and pipefitting-related technical skills r Qualifications Proven experience as a Pipefitter in construction or fabrication environments, with knowledge of pipe installation across various systems and pipelines. Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Stick welding, TIG welding, and pipe welding techniques. Strong ability to accurately read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire protection systems and ASME codes & standards for pressure piping. Advanced math skills for measurements and calculations essential in fabrication tasks. Construction site experience with rigging procedures and adherence to safety protocols Knowledge of pipefitting-related manufacturing processes. Ability to work effectively and independently, and as part of a team, while maintaining high safety standards.
