) Must be able to pass an MVR and background check Must be at least 21-year-old and have had a valid driver license for at least 5 years. Must have current personal vehicle insurance - at least liability. Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test. Must be able to travel 95% of the time. And work long hours. Gathering and preparing materials — pipe, fittings, valves, bolts, gaskets, etc. Measuring and marking pipe according to instructions. Cutting, grinding, cleaning, and preparing pipe for installation. Holding, positioning, and fitting pipe and fittings while the pipe fitter works. Helping with pipe installation in industrial plants, construction sites, refineries, ships, and other facilities. Using hand and power tools such as grinders, wrenches, drills, and pipe tools. Moving and handling materials , sometimes using hoists or other lifting equipment. Keeping the work area clean and organized. Following safety procedures , including PPE and site-specific safety requirements. Depending on experience and the employer, they may assist with tacking, grinding, rigging, or other fabrication-related work , but they generally work under the direction of a qualified pipe fitter. #IND123
