In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various projects, ensuring all work aligns with safety standards, blueprints, and industry codes. Your expertise will help us deliver high-performing piping solutions for our industrial & commercial clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic multi-trade contractor and contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install piping systems according to project specifications. Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and weld pipes using methods such asMIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Stick welding, and TIG welding to ensure strong, leak-proof joints. Read blueprints and schematics to determine pipe layouts, dimensions, and installation sequences. Fabricate pipe components through bending, welding, and pipe threading to meet project requirements. Install various piping systems including plumbing and process piping. Use hand tools and power tools safely for pipe fitting, assembly, rigging, and maintenance tasks on construction sites or manufacturing facilities. Conduct routine inspections of installed piping systems for leaks or defects; perform repairs or replacements as needed while following safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in compliance with safety regulations and project guidelines. Follow all safety procedures related to construction site operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and power tool safety practices. Required Experience Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, Stick welding, TIG welding. Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, construction plans, and blueprints accurately. Mechanical knowledge of pipe fabrication processes including threading, bending (tube bending), assembly, and installation of piping systems. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and pipe dimensions. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards governing pressure vessels and piping systems. Skilled in rigging for lifting heavy pipe sections or equipment safely during installation projects. Experience with HVAC systems maintenance is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment while adhering strictly to safety protocols; previous construction experience preferred. Ability to travel throughout Michigan and multi-state.
