Job Title:
Industrial Process Pipefitter Job Description The Industrial Process Pipefitter is responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and maintenance of process piping systems in industrial and manufacturing environments. This role involves interpreting piping drawings and specifications, installing carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems, and working safely around industrial equipment while adhering to project requirements and applicable codes. Responsibilities Install, assemble, and fit process piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and other piping materials. Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, blueprints, and piping specifications to plan and execute work accurately. Lay out pipe routing, determine spool locations, and verify field dimensions to ensure proper fit and alignment. Cut, bevel, thread, groove, and prepare pipe using appropriate hand tools and power equipment. Fit up valves, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, and other process equipment into piping systems. Install pipe supports, hangers, brackets, and anchors to maintain proper system stability and alignment. Perform equipment setting, rigging, and alignment activities for process piping and associated equipment. Assist pipe welders with fit-up and quality control of welded piping systems to meet project and code requirements. Conduct hydrostatic and pressure testing of piping systems to verify leak-free operation and system integrity. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and quality standards at all times. Coordinate work activities with other trades and teams to meet project schedules and milestones. Troubleshoot and repair existing process piping systems during maintenance and shutdown projects. Essential Skills Proven experience in industrial pipe fitting, including layout, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of process piping systems. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, blueprints, and piping specifications. Hands-on proficiency with installing carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems in industrial and manufacturing environments. Skill in using hand tools and power equipment to cut, bevel, thread, groove, and prepare pipe. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and quality standards related to industrial piping work. Capability to perform hydrostatic and pressure testing of piping systems to ensure leak-free operation. Experience working around industrial equipment while adhering to project specifications and applicable codes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience installing and fitting copper, PVC, and other piping materials in addition to carbon steel and stainless steel. Ability to lay out pipe routing, determine spool locations, and verify field dimensions accurately. Familiarity with fitting up valves, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, and other process equipment. Experience installing pipe supports, hangers, brackets, and anchors for process piping systems. Background in equipment setting, rigging, and alignment activities in industrial environments. Ability to coordinate effectively with other trades to support project schedules. Experience troubleshooting and repairing existing process piping systems during maintenance and shutdowns. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southaven, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
