In this role, you will be responsible for laying, installing, and repairing various types of piping systems, including sanitary sewer, stormwater, water supply, and wastewater systems. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient execution of construction projects by interpreting technical drawings, following blueprint specifications, and adhering to all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects that impact communities and environments positively. Responsibilities Install underground utilities such as sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, water supply lines, and wastewater infrastructure according to construction plans and blueprints. Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to prepare trenches and move materials efficiently. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to ensure precise pipe placement and system integration. Utilize utility locating tools to identify existing underground utilities before trenching or excavation begins, ensuring safety and compliance. Perform construction trenching activities with a focus on safety regulations and proper technique to prevent accidents or damage. Conduct pipe installation using laser-guided equipment such as pipe lasers for precise alignment and elevation control. Complete concrete finishing tasks related to pipe bedding or encasement when necessary, ensuring durability of installed systems. Follow all federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols diligently throughout each project phase. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks in construction settings. Strong knowledge of utility trenching, pipe installation techniques, and underground utility systems such as sanitary sewers and stormwater infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately. Skilled in utility locating methods to identify existing underground utilities before excavation work begins. Proficiency with hand tools used in pipe fitting, concrete forming, welding, and general construction tasks. Familiarity with wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, sewer line installation, pipeline construction, and oil & gas infrastructure projects. Understanding of safety regulations including federal construction safety standards for heavy equipment operation and trenching activities. Knowledge of construction site safety practices including hazard recognition and accident prevention measures.
