JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED

1+ years of experience in pipefitting, preferably in an industrial environment

OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification or willingness to obtain one

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications

Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations

Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and materials and industrial standards

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.

Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment

Use various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and welding tools to join pipes by means of welding, brazing, soldering, cementing, gluing, or threading them

Fabricate pipe spools and components as per project requirements using various welding and fitting techniques

Diagnose and repair faults in piping systems, including leaks, blockages, or pressure issues.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of piping systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards

Test piping systems for leaks using methods like hydrostatic testing or air pressure tests

Lead and instruct mechanical piping helpers, mechanics, and fitters under your supervision

Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely

Other tasks as assigned
