Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Sewer Water Pipe Layer, where you'll play a vital role in installing and maintaining underground utility pipelines essential for modern infrastructure. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to large-scale municipal systems, ensuring safe and efficient water and sewer services. As a Pipe Layer, you'll be at the forefront of construction innovation, utilizing your skills to lay durable pipelines that stand the test of time. Your hands-on expertise will contribute directly to community development and environmental sustainability. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and pipeline installation plans to ensure precise placement of sewer and water pipes. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation. Lay pipes accurately within designated trenches using pipe lasers and other precision tools, ensuring proper alignment and slope for optimal flow. Perform concrete forming and finishing around pipe installations where necessary, maintaining structural integrity and safety standards. Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities and prevent damage during excavation activities. Weld pipe joints securely using welding techniques to ensure leak-proof connections in pipeline systems. Maintain a clean, organized worksite by managing debris, adhering to safety protocols, and coordinating with team members for efficient workflow. Skills Proficient in heavy equipment operation including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks. Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings related to pipeline layouts. Experienced in pipeline installation techniques specific to sewer and water systems within construction sites. Knowledgeable about plumbing principles, concrete forming, welding, utility locating, and construction safety standards. Familiar with the use of pipe lasers for precise alignment during installation processes. Ability to operate construction machinery safely in diverse environments such as oil & gas sites or municipal projects. Strong understanding of construction site procedures with a focus on efficiency, safety compliance, and quality workmanship.
