Project Manager Job Summary:
The Industrial Pipe Fitter is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, and maintaining complex piping systems used in industrial environments such as factories, refineries, and energy plants. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints, working with high-pressure systems, and using specialized tools to ensure safe and efficient pipe installations. Industrial Pipe Fitters play a critical role in supporting mechanical infrastructure and ensuring operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pipe Installation & Fabrication Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications using tools such as band saws, torches, and threading machines Assemble and secure pipes, valves, fittings, and related components according to project plans Install piping systems for steam, fuel, hydraulic, and chemical transport in industrial settings Select appropriate materials for each system, including carbon steel, stainless steel, CPVC, and aluminum 2. Blueprint Interpretation & Site Preparation Read and interpret blueprints, piping schematics, and technical drawings Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity before installation Plan pipe routes and layout to optimize efficiency and safety 3. Testing, Maintenance & Repairs Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure system functionality and safety Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on industrial piping systems Respond to breakdowns and coordinate timely solutions to minimize downtime 4. Safety & Compliance Adhere to safety procedures and wear protective equipment (e.g., goggles, gloves) Follow health and safety regulations when working with hazardous materials and high-pressure systems Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and inspections 5. Collaboration & Communication Coordinate with engineers, welders, and other tradespeople to complete projects Communicate effectively to prevent errors and ensure project alignment Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent, technical training or apprenticeship preferred Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial pipe fitting Proven experience with industrial or infrastructure projects. Technical Skills Proficiency in using pipe fabrication tools and equipment Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience with infrastructure projects involving high pressure systems Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined or elevated spaces Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to emergency calls
Work Environment:
Industrial settings such as factories, refineries, and energy plants Exposure to high-pressure systems, hazardous materials, and mechanical equipment Requires use of protective gear and adherence to strict safety protocols May involve extended hours and on-call availability for emergency repairs
Pay:
$30.00 - $36.00 per hour
