This is an excellent opportunity for a welder who enjoys traveling project work, substantial overtime opportunities, and a rotational schedule that provides 14 consecutive days off between hitches . The Bull Gang Welder will perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and repair work on large pipe, dredging equipment, and associated marine components . Candidates with dredging, marine, heavy industrial, large-diameter pipe, or similar heavy-equipment welding experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Employees work a 28-day hitch , typically consisting of 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week while on site , followed by 14 days off at home with no work responsibilities .
Important:
Candidates should be based within the Texas-Louisiana region and able to report to various project locations. Travel to and from the project site is not paid. Hotel lodging is provided during the 28-day hitch, along with a $55/day food per diem . Responsibilities Perform welding, flame cutting, fabrication, and repairs on dredge equipment, large pipe, and associated components. Repair and maintain dredge piping and other heavy marine equipment as required. Perform structural and pipe welding in field and marine environments. Inspect completed welds for proper formation, penetration, and conformance with specifications. Follow all permit-to-work, energy isolation, hot-work, and fire-watch procedures. Coordinate welding and repair activities with the Chief Engineer and other department personnel. Maintain welding equipment and perform required daily inspections. Maintain accurate inventories of welding consumables, oxygen, acetylene, and other materials. Properly store and handle oxygen and acetylene bottles in accordance with company safety procedures. Assist with general fabrication, modifications, repairs, and other duties when needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area and secure tools and equipment at the end of each shift. Follow company, regulatory, environmental, and job-site safety requirements at all times. Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment concerns. Work outdoors and in marine environments under varying weather and job-site conditions. Perform additional duties as assigned to support dredging operations. Minimum Qualifications 1-3+ years of professional welding experience preferred. Experience welding large pipe, structural steel, heavy equipment, marine equipment, or similar industrial components . Dredging or marine welding experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of welding, flame cutting, fabrication, and related welding practices. Must be able to successfully complete and pass a company-designated weld test . Ability to safely operate welding and cutting equipment. Ability to read and understand work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work effectively as part of a crew in a fast-paced field environment. Must be willing and able to work a 28 days on / 14 days off rotational schedule . Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week during the 28-day hitch . Must be willing to travel to dredging project sites throughout the Texas-Louisiana region.
