Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fitter to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding, fitting, and assembling metal components with precision and safety in mind. Your expertise will contribute to the successful installation, maintenance, and fabrication of piping systems and structural frameworks. Responsibilities Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Stick, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and pipe welding to meet project specifications. Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately to guide fabrication and installation processes. Fit, assemble, and install piping systems for plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, and other structural applications using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and pipefitting techniques. Conduct pipe threading, soldering, cutting, grinding, and fabrication tasks with precision to ensure quality standards are met. Follow all safety regulations including NFPA standards (National Fire Protection Association) for fire sprinkler fitting and general construction site safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and materials used in compliance with safety and quality guidelines. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects involving pipe installation, system maintenance, assembly tasks, and troubleshooting to ensure timely project completion. Requirements Proven experience in welding processes such as MIG, FCAW, Stick welding, TIG welding, and pipe welding in a construction or fabrication environment. Strong ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, construction plans, and schematics accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to pipefitting, pipe threading, soldering techniques, assembly procedures, and system maintenance. Familiarity with hand tools such as grinders, wrenches, cutters; power tools including drills and saws; as well as pipe threading equipment. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to fabrication tolerances or system layouts. Knowledge of safety regulations including NFPA standards for fire sprinkler fitting; adherence to safety protocol guidelines is mandatory. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on pipe installation or sprinkler system setup preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings effectively while working in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors during project execution.
