This position requires working outdoors in field environments, operating fusion equipment and related machinery, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working long hours in demanding field conditions. Responsibilities Install, lay out, connect, and remove HDPE/poly pipe systems according to job specifications. Perform butt fusion, electrofusion, and other approved HDPE joining methods as required. Properly operate and maintain poly pipe fusion machines, heaters, facer equipment, generators, and related tools. Inspect pipe, fittings, valves, flanges, connections, and fusion joints for defects or potential leaks. Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, commissioning, and startup of piping systems. Install valves, tees, elbows, flanges, reducers, and other piping components. Safely load, unload, move, string, and handle poly pipe and associated equipment. Troubleshoot leaks, damaged pipe, failed connections, and other piping-system issues. Perform field repairs and modifications as directed by supervisors. Operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, forklifts, and other equipment when properly trained and authorized. Conduct pre-use inspections of vehicles, fusion equipment, tools, and safety equipment. Maintain fusion equipment and tools in clean and serviceable condition. Complete required job documentation, fusion records, inspections, JSAs/JHAs, and other field paperwork. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations at all times. Qualifications Previous HDPE/poly pipe, pipeline, produced-water, roustabout, or oilfield experience preferred. Experience operating McElroy or similar HDPE fusion equipment preferred. Knowledge of HDPE fusion procedures and proper pipe preparation is preferred. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and field equipment. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a field crew. Must be dependable and able to report to work on time. Must be able to pass company and customer-required drug and alcohol testing. Must comply with all company and customer safety requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds. Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, and pull. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, cold, wind, dust, rain, and other weather conditions. Ability to work around heavy equipment, vehicles, pipelines, and active oilfield or industrial facilities. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and FR clothing when required.
