Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HDD Locator to join our field service team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately locating underground utilities and infrastructure using specialized equipment, ensuring safe and efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of underground systems. Your expertise will help prevent costly damages, protect workers, and streamline construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on diverse construction sites, utilizing your technical skills to deliver precise results that keep projects moving forward smoothly. Responsibilities Operate utility locating equipment to identify underground cables, pipes, and other infrastructure with precision. Interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical drawings to determine the location of underground utilities. Conduct land surveying activities to establish accurate site measurements and boundaries. Assist with excavation and backhoe operations to expose underground utilities safely. Use cabling tools and techniques to install or repair underground wiring systems as needed. Maintain detailed records of utility locations, site conditions, and work performed for project documentation. Follow all safety protocols during field service activities to ensure a secure working environment. Skills Proven service technician experience with utility locating or related fieldwork. Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices. Experience in utility locating using electromagnetic or acoustic detection methods. Familiarity with construction site operations and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately. Skilled in backhoe operation, forklift handling, and other heavy machinery used on construction sites. Proficient in cabling installation, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
