Virginia Beach, VA Job Details Full-time $66,603 a year 21 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Work Schedule and Other Information Mon- Thurs. 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, & available after hours Brief Description Under broad guidance, the Construction Specialist is responsible for performing and supporting various phases of construction and maintenance projects to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. Team members in this position perform specialized tasks such as framing, concrete work, plumbing, pipe laying, welding, excavating, and fabricating. Their expertise contributes to the successful completion of infrastructure improvement and operational projects across HRSD's service area. Detailed Description Click to review the complete job description. Job Requirements Education Required High school diploma or GED. Completion of HRSD's Maintenance Operator or Interceptor Technician Apprenticeship Program, OR a Journeyman Certification, OR an equivalent credential. Experience Required Completion of HRSD's Apprenticeship Program and 3 years of utility construction experience OR at least six years of utility construction experience. Relevant utility construction experience as specified above will be accepted in lieu of HRSD's Maintenance Operator or Interceptor Technician Apprenticeship Program. Progressively responsible experience in construction, maintenance, or infrastructure-related projects, with demonstrated expertise in multiple skilled trades such as framing, concrete work, plumbing, pipe laying, welding, excavation, or fabrication is preferred. Desired Prior experience working on complex or large-scale public infrastructure or utility projects is preferred. Proficiency with computers and basic MS Office applications i.e.: Word, Excel, & Outlook. Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in constructing, repairing, and altering pumps, piping, concrete, structures, and various operational equipment. Licenses and Certifications Requirements Required Must be able to attain and maintain a TWIC card and Port ID.
