Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and versatile General Worker to join our construction and utility installation team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting various heavy equipment operations, site preparation, and utility system installations. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will ensure efficient project execution while adhering to all safety regulations and blueprint specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, from sewer line installation to stormwater system development, contributing to essential infrastructure improvements. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to perform site grading, trenching, and material handling tasks efficiently. Assist with construction trenching activities, utility trenching, and underground utilities installation including sewer lines, water supply systems, and stormwater systems. Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications. Conduct pipe installation using pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and connection of sanitary drainage systems and sanitary sewers. Perform concrete finishing work and welding tasks as required for infrastructure components. Utilize hand tools for various site tasks while maintaining safety protocols at all times. Locate underground utilities using utility locating equipment to prevent damage during excavation activities. Follow federal construction safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks in a construction setting. Strong knowledge of utility system installation projects including sanitary sewers, water supply systems, stormwater systems, and underground utilities. Skills in pipe installation techniques utilizing pipe lasers and laser-guided tools for precision work. Experience with concrete finishing, welding, hand tools usage, and safety regulation adherence. Familiarity with wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, sewer line installation, pipeline work, and stormwater management is highly desirable. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence is essential. Excellent site experience with the ability to interpret technical drawings and follow detailed instructions effectively.
