Preparation Technician

Metallizers is seeking additional team members to support company growth related to the production of Military, Industrial and Infrastructure projects. This company is an innovator in a field that has very few players, and as a result, we compete for and win projects from California to Virginia. Some travel time is required within the US (airfare, hotel, per diem provided). Generally, less than 30% of the time is spent travelling, but this varies year to year. Successful applicants will acquire the knowledge and skills to prepare work pieces for subsequent processing by Thermal Spray Operators safely and effectively as a field contractor for a variety of military and industrial applications. This will include safety training, masking application techniques, abrasive blasting and shot peening. In addition, the Preparation Technicians perform routine maintenance and groundskeeping at the headquarters facility. This is an entry level position that does not require experience in the field. Ideal candidates shall be punctual, detail oriented and capable of learning quickly. Preparation Technicians that pass the 90 day probationary period and develop competence will be eligible (and preferred) for further training and advancement as Thermal Spray Operators as positions become available. Minimum starting wage is $19 for applicants without experience. Prevailing wage rates typically paid on field mobilizations ($33.45/hour or more depending on locale) once the technician has completed enough training to be eligible for travel.
