Job Description

Overview The Line Locator is responsible for accurately locating and marking underground pipelines and utilities in response to Texas 811 locate requests. This position plays a critical role in preventing utility damage, protecting public safety, and ensuring compliance with state regulations while supporting daily pipeline operations. Responsibilities Respond to Texas 811 locate requests within required timeframes. Locate and accurately mark underground pipelines and utilities. Read and interpret pipeline maps, drawings, and records. Maintain detailed documentation of locate activities. Complete work orders and documentation using Salesforce. Communicate with contractors, landowners, and field personnel. Ensure compliance with company policies and damage prevention regulations. Report any damaged or exposed facilities immediately. Support additional field maintenance activities as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Previous experience as a Line Locator is required. Experience responding to 811 utility locate requests. Ability to read maps and utility drawings. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a field environment. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Experience locating oil & gas pipelines. Knowledge of underground utility locating equipment. Experience using Salesforce or other maintenance management software. Familiarity with pipeline operations and maintenance. Must meet conditonal job offer requirements.
