Full-Time Position Summary Manzo Plastering is seeking a skilled and dependable Latherer to join our exterior plastering team. The Latherer is responsible for the proper installation of moisture barriers, flashings, metal lath, and trim accessories in preparation for three-coat stucco or specialty plaster systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring structural integrity, moisture control, and long-term performance of the stucco system. Primary Responsibilities Install two layers of Grade D building paper or approved weather-resistant barrier (WRB) per project specifications Install weep screeds, casing beads, expansion joints, control joints, and corner aids Properly integrate flashing components including window and door flashings Install self-furred metal lath (2.5 or 3.4 galvanized) in compliance with ASTM and local building codes Fasten lath securely to wood or metal framing per code requirements Ensure proper lath overlaps (minimum 1" sides, 2" ends) Install structural reinforcement mesh when required Install FortiFlash or similar waterproofing at critical transitions (weep screed to sheathing, penetrations, etc.) Prepare surfaces for scratch coat application Coordinate with plastering crew for smooth workflow Maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety compliance Load, unload, and stage materials efficiently Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2 years experience in exterior lath installation Knowledge of three-coat stucco systems Familiar with California building codes and industry standards Ability to read blueprints and construction details Experience with scaffolding and elevated work platforms Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in lathing Strong understanding of moisture management systems Reliable transportation Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions Preferred Qualifications Experience with scaffold erection or stair tower access systems Knowledge of crack isolation systems and fiberglass mesh reinforcement Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Physical Requirements Ability to work at heights Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing Work in varying weather conditions (heat, wind, cold) Performance Expectations Install lath system correctly the first time with minimal corrections Maintain production pace consistent with project schedule Follow foreman instructions and jobsite standards Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork Protect company reputation through quality workmanship Compensation Hourly rate based on experience Overtime opportunities Advancement opportunities within
