Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Masonry Worker to join our dynamic construction team. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements and specifications. Mix, apply, and finish concrete using hand tools and power tools to create durable structures such as walls, sidewalks, and foundations. Install rebar (reinforcing steel bars) according to engineering specifications to strengthen concrete structures. Build and install stone masonry, brickwork, and blockwork with precision to meet design standards. Construct formwork for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and stability for consistent results. Perform plastering, stucco application, caulking, and trim carpentry to enhance building aesthetics and functionality. Operate heavy equipment safely for tasks such as lifting heavy materials or preparing site areas for masonry work. Build masonry scaffolds as needed for elevated work areas while adhering strictly to safety protocols. Install building materials including metal studs, drywall, roofing components, and other finishing elements in renovation or new construction projects. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following all safety procedures on-site. Skills Extensive experience with concrete masonry including laying bricks, blocks, stone, and related materials. Proficiency in construction estimating and interpreting technical schematics or blueprints accurately. Strong knowledge of mortar work techniques, concrete finishing methods, and rebar installation standards. Skilled in operating hand tools (trowels, hammers), power tools (drills, saws), and heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to read construction plans thoroughly and follow detailed specifications for diverse masonry tasks. Experience with building restoration projects involving stucco, plastering, caulking, drywall installation, and renovation work. Familiarity with building codes related to masonry work and adherence to safety protocols at all times. Capable of working at heights using scaffolding or ladders while maintaining safety standards. Knowledge of schematics related to metal stud framing or roof structures is advantageous.
