Duties Conduct thorough inspections of chimneys, flues, and venting systems using technical drawings and schematics to identify issues or potential hazards. Perform chimney cleaning procedures, including removal of soot, creosote buildup, and debris using specialized hand tools and power tools. Repair or replace damaged chimney components such as liners, caps, bricks, mortar joints, and masonry structures with precision masonry masonry masonry skills. Install new chimney systems or retrofit existing ones in accordance with blueprint specifications and safety protocols. Utilize construction estimating techniques to assess project scope, materials needed, and time requirements for repairs or installations. Document all work performed through detailed reports and ensure compliance with local building codes and industry standards. Experience Proven experience in construction or masonry work with a focus on chimney repair or restoration projects. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and technical drawings related to masonry and building systems. Hands-on experience with rebar installation, concrete finishing, stone masonry, bricklaying, stucco application, drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, roofing, tile laying, and metal stud framing. Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools essential for masonry work and construction site tasks. Familiarity with construction estimating processes including material calculation and project planning. Experience working on renovation projects involving restoration of existing structures or new construction involving concrete forming and heavy equipment operation. Ability to interpret construction plans accurately while following safety protocols diligently on busy construction sites.
